ROADBEDS

Roadbeds, why are they so important?

Roadbeds provide Stripers with traveling lanes since the lake bottom consists mostly of flooded trees making it easier for them to hunt for bait. The sun heats up the roadbed attracting bait fish, so the Stripers can be located here at some point during the day.

Using a paper map in conjunction with your electronics will help you locate these roadbeds. And, to stay on them either set some waypoints on your electronics or toss out some marker buoys so that you can easily stay on the road and search in both directions.
