The weather forecast for our trip to Cherokee, N.C. said that we would have temps at 48° midday and winds would be light and variable. Wrong again weatherman. It was blustery cold at 42° with gusty winds at 20 mph. The fall colors and the fellowship made the trip bearable. Eateries were questionable as most places were only open on the weekends and we were there Tuesday through Thursday. Most of us caught fish but the advertised stocking was lacking. However, we did mention Don Finfrock in a memorial thought at dinner the first night as he recently passed and going to the ponds in Cherokee was his idea. He had been visiting Cherokee for many years prior.
Certainly not the size we were expecting!!
